Our next walk will be held at Barlaston, Staffordshire on Sunday 7th February. We will meet in the car park at the Wedgewood Visitor Centre, Barlaston, Stoke on Trent, ST12 9ER, at 12.00 noon. There are facilities at the visitor centre, and at the Village Hall.The walk of 3.5 miles is on road, gravel track and tow paths, and is fairly flat.I have hired Barlaston Village Hall , 1 Longton Road, Barlaston, ST12 9AA, from 11.30am , there will be a puppy creche and it will provide us with somewhere to warm up after the walk!There will be a picnic lunch at the hall after the walk. There will be a small charge for this, which will include the hire of the hall , so the more of you who turn up the cheaper it will be!!
Directions:From the South: Exit the M6 at junction 14, Stafford north, and bear right under the motorway taking the first exit on the far side signposted A34 for Stone and Stafford. Go straight over the first roundabout, and at the second bear left staying on the the A34 to Stone and Stoke on Trent, and dual carriageway. Stay on the A34 through Stone. After Stone you will approach a large roundabout with the Darlestone Inn at the far end. Stay on the A34 eventually turning right to Barlaston. If you are heading for the Wedgewood Visitor centre, turn left onto Old Road, and follow signs of the Centre. If you want to go straight to the Village Hall continue on the main street, go over the railway, and after passing the Church of St John the Baptist on your right, turn left at the crossroads onto Longton Road. The Village Hall is found shortly on the left.From the North: Exit the M6 at junction 15 and follow signs for A34 Stone , Stafford and Trentham Gardens. Pass the Gardens on you right and stay on the A34, eventually passing Tittensor on your right. The turning for Barlaston will be shortly on your left.
